Selby England

The main sanctuary of the Selby Abbey. The Selby Abbey is an Anglican parish church in the quaint town of Selby, North Yorkshire, England.
One of the at least three small “chapels” in the Abbey.

Front entrance to the Abbey
Selby Town Square right in front of the Selby Abbey. Selby is a small town, around 13,000 people and found it was a very clean town and people friendly. When we went to visit the Abbey, church services and tea had just finished. The priest was just leaving when we entered and told us “You JUST missed tea and cookies, we would have loved to have you join us.”. How nice!

  8. This comment has nothing to do with the pictures of the church (which ar great by the way) but about a story I just read on Are you still planning to move to Canada? The article states that Saskatchewan has jobs. Would you be interested in moving there?

  9. Love your pictures–they’re beautiful! Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment!! :0)

  10. Jen – probably a lot has changed since you’ve been to either country. Me thinks is about time for a return visit, no?

Love Handles Blog – sorry to hear about what happened to your friend, what part of Italy was he visiting?

Hot Rocks – So I take it you’ve been to York? I would love to go back. We only drove around the city, that day my computer technician hubby wasn’t feeling up for a walk around the city.

Martin in Bulgaria – You missed out on a nice quaint abbey sir. Maybe the next time you go back…..

Mo_Inoh – Thanks. If you have the opportunity to visit Italy, do so.

    J. Doe – After I read your comment, I read the article on CNN. In a way doesn’t surprise me. Awhile back was chatting with a friend of mine that lives in Saskatchewan and said basically the same thing that the CNN article stated, that the economy in Saskatchewan is fairing the economic crisis fairly well, many people from Alberta are moving over. Our “preferred” province would be British Columbia, but are considering any province at the moment, just to get the foot in the door so to speak.
