Congratulations President Barack Obama

Congratulations President Barack Obama in your victory and inauguration as 44th Presidents of the United States of America and for being the first African American elected into such an important position. You bring hope to a country and also the world that is in need of drastic change. My fellow citizens of the United States and of the world are watching and demanding that much needed changes are actually made. The economy, jobs, health care system and education just to name a few.

During the election campaign, many people here in Italy would ask my opinion. Who I thought would win, who I voted for etc. Italians were very curious to know, in a good way. Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi made the comment about President-Elect Barack Omaba that he was “intelligent, young and tanned”. Things that make you go mmmm.

  1. Tanned, yes:)…. and very good-looking! Others I have talked to (Canadians) are “relieved” to see him in office because the world feels like a safer place (Not because the world needs the US to make it safe, but because under Bush the US was dramatically becoming a toxic liability to the rest of the world.)

But Obama can’t change everything. It’s not black and white. There is a long period of transition and the US has to do more than just change presidents to regain its reputation (because there’s not only the BUSh mess, but the dirty debt mess).

  3. Moneyenergy, I most definitely agree with the others that you’ve talked to. Italians seem to think the same way, especially about Bush and I do utterly agree. Correct, Obama cannot change everything, that would be impossible. But hopefully he can make some kind of positive impact to get the States back on the right track so to speak, for the people.

    Obama is a “miserable failure”
I must admit that this is sweet revenge. A few years ago tech savvy internet users with Bush derangement syndrome linked President Bushes bio with the Google search term “miserable failure.” Now the label has been transferred to President Barack Obama.

  6. Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I hope you’re still managing not to smoke too much

  10. He he he, I had to giggle about Berlusconi’s comment :o)
I sure hope that Obama can make a change. We need a lot to be changed…

  11. Mary@Holy Mackerel

    Tanned. That’s a goooood one!!

  12. My impression about Berlusconi, especially when he made the “tanned” comment, that he just doesn’t think before opening his mouth. To think this man is Prime Minister of Italy……….

  13. I just found your site on Entrecards. I am an American Expat living in Davao, Philippines. I enjoy reading about other expats and how they assimilate in their new home country as I do in my site. I hope you will read mine and comment if something strikes you to do so.

  14. I like the fact that he doesn’t let them play “Hail To The Cheif” when he enters the room. He seems to be very laid back and not so much into a power trip. I really think he has good intensions of helping the country as much as he can. He also went in and suspended all the people’s salary’s that were over $100,000 in the white house. Pretty nice start but it’s going to be a long ride.

  15. Agree James, Obama hasn’t been in office for very long, only a matter of days. Let’s just hope he can keep up this “nice start” and extend it throughout his term. He does have a long and bumpy ride ahead of him and let us hope his “power” doesn’t go to his head.

BTW James, do you have a blog, instead of providing links for “find a phone number” or any other “commercial” sites?
